Program Description

All Teams Receive the Following (included with registration):

  • Two team practices per week (one per week for 8U) and a regular schedule of games (average of one home game and one away game per weekend in season). We will utilize Baker Rink at Princeton University, Loucks Rink at Lawrence Prep and Lisa McGraw Rink at Princeton Day School for organizational activities.
  • Additional on-ice skills sessions featuring station-based drills, skating specific instruction as well as individualized goalie-specific instruction by our professional staff.
  • 8U,10U and 12U teams will participate in a NJYHL “Pre-season” schedule at the beginning of the season to determine competitive level of play. The NJYHL will also use their “Competition Committee” to place teams appropriately.
  • Up to two tournaments per team at the 10U, 12U and 14U levels. 16U and 18U teams have one tournament included per team.  16U and 18U teams may attend their tournament during the summer or over Labor Day weekend at the coach's discretion.
  • Effective this season, the 12U and 14U AA teams will have the opportunity to participate in the Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League (EJEPL).  This will be in addition to participation in the New Jersey Youth Hockey League (NJYHL).  This will involve an additional cost as noted in the tuition outline. EJEPL schedules may start earlier than NJYHL schedules.
  • Teams participating in the EJEPL league will have showcase weekends that may be substituted for a tournament.
  • Off season (May-July) ice sessions will be made available (i.e. camps/goalie clinics/optional team practices, etc.)

All Players Receive the Following (included with registration):

  • Two tickets per player to attend one Princeton University Men’s Hockey game.
  • One player admission to season ending banquet (8U through 18U).
  • One team/individual photo package (8U through 18U).
  • Participation in our annual tailgate party.

  • At the 16U and 18U levels we field "short season" teams which play a condensed schedule due to high school hockey and academic considerations. 16U and 18U teams will have skill sessions every week during that short season. At the 10U, 12U and 14U level, skill sessions will be held on alternate weeks for the duration of the season.
  • 8U teams will be USA Hockey ADM (American Development Model) compliant.  All 8U teams play half ice games for the entire season and utilize a 3:1 practice/game ratio. 8U teams will receive one practice slot weekly in addition to weekend slots.

 Items Not Included in Registration:

  • Game jerseys, practice jerseys and socks must be purchased separately at time of registration through our website. Due to our merger with Lawrence Nassau Hockey Association, returning PYHA families will receive credit for 1 free game jersey.
